Can anyone help? I have a Toshiba Qosmio F20-136 currently running Windows Media Centre. I am trying to install Vista Beta but keep getting an error message saying that I need a minimum of 400 odd mbs of memory for temp files. However, I have over 30gb free. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Hi, I received the same message when I tried installing Vista from within XP Pro; however when I booted from the Vista DVD, it installed just fine. Hope this may help.
Thanks for the suggestion but if I boot straight from the DVD & not just an update, I understand I will lose all installed programs & docs etc. Could partition the hard drive, but already have it dual booting with Suse 10.1 and the partitions on a 60gb drive are getting a little small.

Is it conceivable that the message is referring to RAM and not storage?

Nope & I have a gig of RAM so that should have been fine. Had to install via DVD boot. Unfortunately the movie playback is in slow motion.
Back to Windows XP I think.
Thanks

You may want to send this scenario to Microsoft.
